This policy explains how SmallBizKaizen.com collects and uses personal data, how we use cookies and similar technologies, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
1. Who we are
SmallBizKaizen.com is operated by:
GKF Media
Sjögatan 20
342 34 Alvesta
Sweden
Email: smallbizkaizen@amejl.se
Scandinavian Seminars AB is the data controller for the processing described in this policy, except where an external provider acts as an independent controller.
2. Website hosting and security
Our website and newsletter tool are hosted with Inleed.
When you visit the website, our hosting service may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested pages, access times and error logs.
This information is used to deliver the website, investigate technical problems and protect against misuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure and functioning website.
Technical logs are retained for up to 12 months, according to the retention information supplied by our hosting provider.
For information about Inleed, visit inleed.se.
3. Contact forms and email
We use SureForms for contact forms on the website.
When you contact us, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address and message. We use this information to respond and manage related correspondence.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. Where an enquiry concerns entering into a contract, processing may instead be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into that contract.
We retain ordinary enquiries and related correspondence for up to 12 months after the enquiry has been resolved, unless longer retention is necessary to meet a legal obligation or handle a legal claim.
Please do not send sensitive personal information through ordinary contact forms or email.
4. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address, any name you provide and information needed to manage and document your subscription.
We use our own newsletter tool, hosted with Inleed. We do not track newsletter openings or link clicks.
Our legal basis for sending the newsletter is your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each newsletter or by emailing smallbizkaizen@amejl.se.
We retain your subscription information while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we stop sending newsletters. Limited consent and unsubscribe records may be retained for up to 24 months to document your choices and prevent unwanted mailings. We rely on our legitimate interest in demonstrating compliance and respecting unsubscribe requests for this limited recordkeeping.
5. Google services and analytics
We use Google Site Kit to display information from Google Search Console, Google Analytics and PageSpeed Insights in our WordPress administration area.
Google Search Console
Search Console provides information about how our website appears in Google Search, including search impressions, clicks and indexing issues.
We use these reports to improve our content and address technical problems.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, including which pages are visited, how visitors arrive and how they interact with our content.
Depending on your consent and the service configuration, Google Analytics may process page views, interactions, browser and device information, approximate location and online identifiers.
Our analytics consent plugin loads Google Analytics only after you select “Accept analytics”. If you decline, the plugin does not load the Analytics tracking code.
Our legal basis for this analytics processing is your consent. You can withdraw consent using the “Cookie settings” button on the website.
User-level and event-level data in Google Analytics are retained for two months. Aggregated reports may remain available for longer.
Our plugin disables Google signals and advertising personalisation signals in its Analytics configuration.
Further information is available in:
PageSpeed Insights
We use PageSpeed Insights to review website performance and identify opportunities to improve loading speed and usability.
6. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Local storage is another way for a website to remember information in your browser.
Remembering your privacy choice
Our consent plugin stores your analytics choice in your browser’s local storage under the name mcs_analytics_consent_v2.
This record contains your choice, the time it was made, the consent version and the Analytics measurement identifier. It is treated as valid for 180 days, after which we ask for a new choice.
This storage is necessary to remember and respect your privacy preference. It is not used to track you across websites. Our plugin does not create a server-side history of your consent choices.
If browser storage is unavailable or you clear it, you may be asked to choose again.
Analytics cookies
After you consent, Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga and _ga_<identifier> to distinguish visits and maintain session information. Their default lifetime can be up to two years, depending on Google’s configuration and browser restrictions. Cookie lifetimes are separate from our two-month Analytics data retention setting.
Changing your choice
You can reopen the consent panel using the “Cookie settings” button and select either “Accept analytics” or “Reject analytics”.
If you withdraw consent, our plugin disables its Analytics tracking, attempts to remove accessible Analytics cookies and reloads the page without loading Analytics.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal and does not automatically delete information previously sent to Google. You can contact us to request deletion where applicable.
You can also delete or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
7. Affiliate links and external websites
Some articles may contain affiliate links. If you follow one of these links and make a qualifying purchase or take another qualifying action, we may receive a commission.
We identify affiliate content with a disclosure in the relevant article or near the links.
Following an affiliate link takes you to an external provider or through an affiliate network. The destination service may process information about the referral and use its own cookies or similar technologies. Its privacy and cookie policies apply to that processing.
Our analytics consent plugin does not manage cookies on external websites.
We do not currently use Google AdSense on this website.
8. Who receives personal data?
Personal data may be processed by service providers supporting our hosting, email, contact forms, newsletters and analytics, as described above.
Inleed provides hosting services, and Google provides the Google services described in this policy. Providers acting on our behalf process information under applicable data processing arrangements. Providers acting as independent controllers are responsible for their own processing.
We may also disclose information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
9. International transfers
Our use of Google services may involve processing outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.
Google describes its international transfer arrangements, including applicable adequacy frameworks and Standard Contractual Clauses, in its data transfer framework information.
Where required, international transfers must be covered by a valid transfer mechanism and any necessary additional safeguards. You can contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your personal data and how to obtain a copy.
10. Your privacy rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data and receive a copy.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Receive personal data you provided in a portable format where applicable.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise your rights, email smallbizkaizen@amejl.se.
We may request proportionate information to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month. Where an extension is legally permitted, we will explain the reason.
You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority. In Sweden, this is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection — IMY. You may also contact the relevant authority in the EEA country where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred.
11. Providing information
You do not need to submit contact details, subscribe to our newsletter or accept analytics to read our articles.
If you contact us, we need enough information to respond. An email address is required to receive the newsletter.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services, data processing or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
